Ingredients:
½ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup cream
120g chocolate
1 ½ cups butter, browned
7 eggs
2 cups sugar
½ cup cocoa powder
2 tbsp vanilla bean paste
2 tsp salt
2 cups AP flour
Powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
- To make the chocolate ganache, microwave chocolate chips and cream in a bowl in 20 second increments, stirring until totally smooth. Chill at least 2 hours, or until firm.
- For the cake batter, add the melted and browned butter to chocolate and allow to melt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and sugar until pale and thickened, about 3 minutes.
- Add the chocolate mixture, then whisk in the cocoa powder, vanilla bean paste, salt, and AP flour. Combine to form the cake batter.
- Add half of batter to a non-stick/greased 7.25” or 8” cake pan, then ½ cup hardened ganache, and top with remaining batter.
- Place in a 350 degree oven for 55-60 minutes. Remove and allow to cool slightly. Garnish with powdered sugar and serve with whipped cream. Enjoy!
