Connor & John: Bound By Friendship, Fueled By The Race

Team Motto: When he goes high, I go low!

The Stakes: Connor and John want to put their friendship to the ultimate test and push themselves to be better than they were yesterday. Specifically for John, born with Achondroplasia Dwarfism, he has always been told “no” or “you can’t.” He wants to show the world that little people are more capable than the average person might think. Both believe representation matters, and want to break all stereotypes surrounding Little People.

Connor and John met during Frosh Week at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ont. and hit it off right away. Well, John hit on Connor’s girlfriend innocently, but they’ve stayed good friends ever since – even becoming roommates in their second year of school.

John was a finance graduate but moved into social media and comedy. Born with achondroplasia and dwarfism, John has faced many challenges, including a stutter. It took him years of practice and vocal exercises for him to be the speaker he is today. John wants to break the stereotype of people living with dwarfism and it seems he has, accumulating millions of followers and views on his social media platforms.

Connor is extremely loyal. He supports everything John wants to do, and he’s even a die-hard Toronto Maple Leafs fan (which takes a lot of loyalty). With Connor’s day-to-day work in Law, he knows he can handle the stress of the Race, and also handle John’s energy which is bound to come out. He’s also looking forward to pushing himself out of his comfort zone.

John and Connor are ready to put their friendship to the ultimate test on THE AMAZING RACE CANADA and push themselves further than they ever have. The only thing that might slow this team down are John’s legs (John’s words), but that’s when Connor will throw John on his back and carry them both to the finish line.
