This decadent slow cooker dessert consists of bright and tart pears cooked in butter, dark rum, vanilla and brown sugar sauce, then topped with vanilla ice cream. It’s decadent, old school and a perfect dish.

Ingredients
4 Bartlett pears, cored and quartered
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1/4 cup dark rum
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup chopped pecans
Vanilla ice cream, for serving
Directions
Add pears, brown sugar, butter, rum, vanilla, and cinnamon to a six-quart slow cooker. Season with a pinch of salt and stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for two hours.
Add walnuts and pecans, cover and cook for an additional 30 minutes.
