Level up your classic boxed mac & cheese with this creamy carbonara dish made with bacon and Parmigiano Reggiano. This dish is so simple to make and is perfect for small spaces like college dorm rooms or apartments!

Carbonara Mac & Cheese

  • 1 store bought box of white mac and cheese
  • 8 slices pre-cooked bacon, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • ½ cup Parmigiano Reggiano cheese

  1. Follow the directions of the package for the mac and cheese. (Boil and strain the pasta, return into the pan, add in the powdered mix, add butter and milk.)
  2. In addition, to give the carbonara flare add the bacon, pepper, Parmigiano Reggiano and mix together until well combined. Cook in the pot for about 2-3 minutes to allow the flavours to incorporate and serve! Enjoy!
