  • 1 raw sugar cube
  • Splash soda
  • 0.75 oz cognac
  • 4 oz chilled sparkling wine
  • 1 sash angostura bitters (optional)
  • Garnish: mint and fun fruit

  1. In the bottom of your chilled julep cup, place the sugar cube. Top with a splash of soda.
  2. Muddle until sugar cube is properly dissolved.
  3. Add five leaves of mint. Very lightly muddle (massage into your sugar, don’t hurt it).
  4. Add cognac. Add chilled sparkling wine.  Fill with crushed ice.
  5. Slide your julep straw down and very lightly stir.
  6. Top with your mint crown and other seasonal fruit (maybe a strawberry, blackberry or pineapple!)
