An insanely easy four-ingredient dessert made with classic flavours like chocolate, caramel, creamy peanut butter and banana.
8 3 1/2 by 3 1/2-inch wonton wrappers
1/4 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
1 banana, peeled and sliced into 1/4-inch thick slices
8 caramel-filled chocolate bar segments
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Peanut or vegetable oil for frying
Place a small bowl of warm water beside the wonton wrappers. Put a single wonton wrapper on a clean, dry surface in front of you.
Schmear one teaspoon of peanut butter onto the center. Press a banana slice on top of the peanut butter and top with a chocolate segment.
Dip your finger in the water and generously wet the outer edges of the wonton wrappers (water is the glue of wonton wrappers). Pinch and seal the wrapper around the ingredients. Be sure that the seams are tightly sealed to keep the frying oil from seeping in. If you are not frying immediately, place a damp towel over top, or store them in the freezer where they will last for days (months if sealed in an airtight container) after they are frozen. Wontons can be fried straight from the freezer.
Preheat a deep fryer or fill a tall, heavy, medium pot one-third full of oil. Heat the oil to 350°F.
When the oil is ready, fry the wontons for about one minute or until the wonton wrappers are golden brown. If making multiple batches, fry no more than eight wontons at a time. Remove with a slotted spoon and place on a paper towel to absorb excess oil.
Dust with the powdered sugar. Let cool for one minute before serving. Enjoy!
