Classic chocolate chip cookies
Ingredients
- 3-1/2 cups AP flour
- 1-1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1-1/4 teaspoons baking soda
- 1-1/2 teaspoons coarse salt
- 2-1/2 sticks (1-1/4 cups) unsalted butter
- 1-1/4 cups light brown sugar
- 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup bittersweet 70% chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
- Coarse sea salt, for sprinkling over cookie
Directions
- Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt into a large bowl; set aside.
- Using a mixer with a paddle , cream the butter and sugar together until soft and fluffy, three to four minutes.
- Add eggs, one at a time then the vanilla.
- Reduce to low, and add dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
- Fold in chocolate.
- Press plastic wrap against dough (or place dough in an airtight container) and refrigerate overnight.
- When ready to bake, preheat oven to 350F degrees. And scoop out dough in desired size about 120 grams each is best on a Lined baking sheet nonstick baking mat
- Sprinkle lightly with sea salt and bake until golden brown but still soft, about 20 minutes.
