  • 3 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 1/4 teaspoons instant or rapid-rise yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

  1. Mix yeast with warm water and sugar in a bowl.  Cover and let stand in a warm place for 15-20 minutes.
  2. Once the yeast has bloomed and is bubbly, mix in all the other ingredients.
  3. Mix well until dough forms into a ball.
  4. Cover and let it stand for around one and a half hours until it rises.
  5. Punch down the dough and knead until the correct texture is achieved.
  6. Add a bit more flour to prevent stickiness.
  7. Roll into four dough balls.
  8. Roll out the balls and flatten to 4x10 inch rounds.
