Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups beer
  • 1 package full fat cream cheese
  • 2 cups cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup bacon diced, and cooked
  • 2 tablespoon sweet onion, sliced and fried
  • 4 hot dogs (OR, you can use your favorite sausage)
  • 4 hot dog buns

Directions

  1. Prepare stovetop to high heat.
  2. Pour the beer into a pot, and then add hot dogs. Boil for ten minutes.
  3. Remove hot dogs from beer and place on a grill.
  4. Grill for another three to four minutes, until you have nice grill marks.
  5. Reduce beer in pot to one cup. Place back on burner on medium-high heat.
  6. Add the cream cheese and cheddar cheese to the heated beer.
  7. Whisk/mix until combined and thickened.
  8. You can also add two to three tablespoons of bacon into the cheese mixture, if you want to make the sauce extra bacon-y.
  9. Assemble your beer-dogs:
  10. Place hot dog on bun.
  11. Top with generous amount of cheese sauce.
  12. Top with bacon and fried onions.
  13. Serve with a cold glass of beer.
