Salted caramel and dark chocolate chunk cookies

Chocolate lovers, this one's for you. Ooey-gooey goodness awaits, with salt and caramel chips to balance the flavour. You might want to consider making two batches - with everyone home for the holidays, these irresistible little desserts might not last long!


  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup caramel chips
  • Flaky salt as garnish


  1. To a mixing bowl add flour, cocoa powder, baking soda and salt. Mix well and set aside.
  2. To another mixing bowl add melted butter, egg, sugars and vanilla. Whisk until combined. Add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix. Fold in the chopped chocolate and caramel chips.
  3. Cover and chill the dough for 30 minutes.
  4. Pre-heat oven to 350° and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  5. Using a tablespoon drop dough onto prepared baking sheets 2” apart. Bake for 12 minutes.
  6. Sprinkle with flaky salt and let cool on baking sheet for five minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to completely cool. Enjoy!
