The laundry room can often be an overlooked space in the home. But even a small room can have a big design impact! Designer Andrew Pike showed us how we can make your laundry space truly shine, with just a few simple tips.

Selecting your Washer and Dryer

More and more people want full-size laundry units, but often are working with a small space that just can't handle both a washer and a dryer. The LG Washtower™ is designed just for this problem! It has all the full-size features in half the floor space—3.4 inches shorter than LG's conventional stacked.

The game-changer about this system is the control panel in the centre of the stacked set, which controls both the washer and dryer settings. Plus, it takes the guesswork out of laundry with artificial intelligence. This technology can select the optimal wash cycle by sensing the weight of the load, and the softness of the fabric, which will extend the life of your clothing.

And of course, to make life even easier, LG created an app to go along with this innovative product. The LG ThinQ app allows you to remote start your washer or dryer, select a cycle, and monitor when your laundry is done.

Wallpaper

Wallpaper adds a gorgeous, finishing touch to any space and the laundry room is no different. Pick a pattern that adds interest and flows into the rest of your home to keep a continuous look and feel. For high traffic areas or wet areas, vinyl is a great durable option.

Countertop and Backsplash

Counters provide a great space for folding and ironing. Go for something more durable like quartz.

Made to cover the walls and add style, backsplashes are essential for any room that deals with water. Choose a colour or texture that matches your floors for a cohesive space.

Organization and Storage

Baskets are a great way to tuck things away and keep them out of sight. They come in so many options, such as plastic for wet or damp items, metal for a more industrial look and seagrass or sisal for warmth sand interset.

A great alternative is using glass jars to hold laundry detergent, dryer sheets and other laundry needs to make your products worthy of sitting out in the open!

Don't forget to accessorize

Update your laundry room with stylish soap pumps and canisters. Changing the handles and hardware is also a great way to modernize the overall space. And a runner adds some softness underfoot and warms up the room.
