As we all work to navigate this new normal we find ourselves in, the Marilyn team really missed the excitement of bringing you new shows each day. We miss our experts' great tips, and our viewers' great questions. We miss what makes The Marilyn Denis Show so incredible in the first place: the community behind the scenes, on camera, and watching in their living rooms. So while we can't bring you new shows on TV just yet, Marilyn wanted to do the next best thing: Start a podcast!

We're thrilled to announce Marilyn Denis Does A Podcast, which joins the IHeartRadio family April 1st. With new episodes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, you can listen to Marilyn engage in some amazing, in-depth conversations that we don't always have time for on the show. Don't worry: There will be a lot of familiar voices delivering the great advice you've come to love, and it will feel like a conversation between friends. If you've ever wondered what it's like to sit down for coffee with Marilyn, here's your answer! You can expect casual, yet meaningful conversations to help all of us move through these extraordinary times a little bit easier.

Marilyn's first guest is the always insightful family therapist, Joe Rich. Joe gives very practical advice on how not to get overwhelmed by the news, how best to support elderly parents, how to say and ask for exactly what you need at this time without any embarrassment and shame, and how we can push the reset button on our lives, when some normality returns!

We hope you're as excited as we are, but we don't think anyone is as excited about this new project as Marilyn is! So, we asked her to give us a bit of a sneak peek into what this new project means to her.

On her home recording setup

"I am not only doing the podcast from my basement on a comfortable couch, but that’s also where I do the CHUM 1045 morning show while we’re all in isolation. You see, 'Maryland' is a radio show on Chum 104.5 in Toronto, The Marilyn Denis show on CTV, and now Marilyn Denis Does A Podcast! With self isolation being so important, I still need to keep myself busy, and what a great opportunity this is!"

On how this comapres to her incredible career in radio

"Podcasting is very much like how FM radio used to be in the 70s, and I couldn't be more proud to be part of that legacy. You get a real feel of who people are. There's no soundbytes, just real, unedited converations and great stories worth sharing."

On what we can expect in terms of guests and what they'll be talking about

"We have an exceptional list of guests confirmed so far. When we connected with people whom we wanted to invite to the podcast, they said yes without hesitation. Daphne Oz, Debbie Travis, and Joe Zee are just a few you can expect to hear soon.

No matter what, they are experts in their field, but this is a great opportunity to dig a little deeper to find a little bit more about who they are, where they came from, how they got the job. It’ll be great storytelling as they all have a gift, and I want to share their journey and some funny mishaps along the way. The lessons they learned, and things they passed up that got away from them but still kept them going. And especially, how their lives have changed since we all went into self isolation and their forecast for the future, so we can all learn from each other."

On whether or not her husband Jim will make an appearance

"My husband Jim makes the coffee for the podcast and he’s very happy with his role. Maybe one day he’ll be a guest! We'll have to wait and see!"
