One of our viewers wrote to us asking for help reducing her waste in the kitchen, so we challenged her to our 30-day low waste challenge! With help and direction from eco expert Candice Batista, Antonietta dove headfirst into making meaningful changes. While it was challenging to incorporate different daily habits into her lifestyle, Antonietta says the benefits are well worth it. Not only did she receive countless encouraging responses from people on Instagram, but she also has become more mindful of what she purchases.

Overall, Antonietta told us that the low waste challenge is saving her hundreds of dollars per month! Rather than going out to buy things she "thinks" she needs, she finds an alternative solution to using what she already has or comes up with a creative alternative. To help with this, we showed her how to DIY dish soap:

  • 1 x Upcycled bottle
  • 1/2 cup of distilled water
  • 1/2 cup of Sal Suds
  • 1 tablespoon of Jojoba Oil – to keep the skin soft and moisturized

Pour the ingredients into a dish soap dispenser. Shake well and use.
