When it comes to wearing the last trends, there was a time when sizing options were extremely limited. As Meredith Shaw says, “Gone are the days when you could only wear certain things based on your body type.” She shared her best tips for styling pieces based on your body type and how you can incorporate fashion-forward trends into your wardrobe!

THE MOTO JACKET

Moto jackets are a great staple piece for anyone’s closet, regardless of their personal style. Many people don’t know that they can get jackets in different size lengths, depending on the store. This option can really transform the way the piece looks on your body! If you tend to carry weight in the middle of your body, opt for a tall size jacket. It’s a great way to hide the tummy, but it also prevents your stomach from being shown if you move your arms around. If you decide to layer underneath your moto jacket, keep your outfit and body in balanced proportions by opting for a slimming pair of joggers or jeans. You can never go wrong with pairing a moto jacket with a great pair of denim! Look for options that have stretch in the waistband, but don’t have an overall baggy look.

THE BOHO LOOK

A lot of women, regardless of their body size, tend to shy away from the flowy boho-inspired dresses, because it can seem too overpowering. It all comes down to how you style the piece! If you’re on the curvier side, you want to look for dresses that come in at the waist and offer a bit of sleeve coverage. You can either go for one with or without a belt, but try to avoid anything too bulky. The midi length is perfect for all body types as well, it allows you to play around with your shoes but doesn’t cut off your legs or shorten you. If you want to go a bit edgier, you can add in a pair of lace tights and a slim-line blazer to flatter your upper body.
