Three chic ways to style an oversized shirt dress

An oversized shirt dress is one of the best pieces for all body types that can be transformed into several different outfits when layered and accessorized! Stylist Cynthia Florek showed us three different ways you can style an oversized shirt dress with pieces you already own.
FEMININE AND MONOCHROMATIC
If you're looking for a way to create a super sophisticated look, you can pair your shirt dress with a pleated chiffon skirt and bodysuit in the same colour tone. Not only will this give you a monochromatic vibe, but it can also blend in to look like a dress. Topped with a belt at the waist, you can control the volume and create an hourglass shape.

DRESS ON DRESS
Similar to layering with a skirt, don't be afraid to wear a dress under your shirt dress! You can treat your oversized shirt dress as a duster or cardigan when layering it with your favourite summer dresses. Whether you choose to belt it or knot it, try to create a bit of dimension to your oversized shirt. You can also just let it drape if it's lightweight. For a polished and dressier look, add layered necklaces and a pair of sandals!

COTTAGE BOUND
For the cottage goer or beach-lover, treat your shirt dress as a coverup. You can style a one-piece swimsuit like a bodysuit and toss on a pair of paper bag linen pants that are loose and breezy. Feel free to cuff the bottom of the pants and drape your shirt dress on top of your swimsuit. You can also forgo the pants and style the outfit with shorts instead! Add a sun hat for a final touch and a pair of flip flops or casual summer shoes.
