Get that flawless skin look, without the expensive airbrushing kit.
November 5, 2021 2:33 p.m. EST

You can't always have perfect skin, but you can make it look like you do with airbrushed makeup - or better, makeup that simply looks like it's been airbrushed. This look can be costly, but it's all about using the right products and techniques. To help us out, makeup artist Chantel Guertin is showing us how to achieve this flawless look on a budget!

Cleanse the skin

The first step to achieve this look is to cleanse with an exfoliating cleanser, like the Isa Knox LX 2-in-1 cleansing balm. It cleans and exfoliates in one step using finely milled bamboo stem powder and vitamin B5, so it's gentle enough to use every day to slough off that dead dry skin to leave your skin feeling clean and smooth..

Serum

This serum from Shiseido uses botanicals to really boost your skin's inner defence, get the circulation going, and optimize the efficacy of the products you use afterwards.

Moisturizer

When it comes to getting the airbrushed look, you need to apply a moisturizer that's really soothing and hydrating. This cream by Biotherm is perfect for this time of year, especially as the weather gets colder. It's enriched with life plankton probiotic extract so it soothes irritated skin, diminishes those fine lines, to give you that really great surface to work with.

Foundation

In terms of foundation, Chantel suggests finding one that's really hydrating to continue to add moisture to your skin during this process. This radiant serum foundation from L'Oreal is infused with vitamin b5, and won't settle into those fine lines.

The key to achieving this airbrushed look is using a foundation brush to apply to the product instead of your fingertips. This set includes four brushes, including a foundation brush, and a powder brush. You want to be sure you're applying the foundation in round circles, so you achieve that perfect finish!

Concealer

Next, we're going to cover any dark spots, blemishes and dark under-eye circles, by using a concealer. This one from Charlotte Tilbury is great for both the under-eye area and the rest of your face, so you don't have to work with two different products to achieve the airbrushed look.

Setting powder

A traditional powder can sometimes leave your whole face looking cakey but we're looking for that glowy, airbrushed look. This is a great product from Avon that is 100% naturally derived from micro-milled crystals and minerals, such as rose quartz. It sets your makeup but it also blurs your pores and won't settle into lines. Chantel recommends using a big powder brush to apply the product.
