Ingredients

  • 1 Tbsp white tea
  • 1 oz Fonseca White Port
  • 1/2 oz Plymouth Gin
  • 1/4 oz Honey Syrup
  • 1/4 oz lemon juice
  • Long lemon twist, for garnish
  • Edible flowers, for garnish

Directions

  1. Steep 1 cup of the white tea following instructions of the tea producer.
  2. In a large heat-proof mug, combine Port, gin, honey syrup, and lemon juice. Stir and mix well.
  3. Add white tea and stir until integrated.
  4. Garnish with the lemon twist and edible flowers.

When it comes to hot drinks, dark spirits tend to take center stage. However, I like to mix things up, and, alcoholic or not, one of my favorite warm beverages is a nice white tea. So, why not booze it up? This hot gin punch is perfect for those rainy spring days where you can smell the flowers from a mile away. From my book ‘ For the Love of Cocktails’ this is the perfect alternative to a hot toddy.
