Sorrel Spritz

Makes 2 cocktails

Ingredients

Sorrel Concentrate:

  • 2 cups dried sorrel (hibiscus) flowers
  • 10 cups water
  • 20 whole cloves
  • 2 cups sugar
  • Fresh ginger, sliced (optional)

To Serve:

  • Ice
  • Soda water
  • Lime wedges
  • Fresh mint

Directions

  1. Bring the water to a boil.
  2. Add the sorrel flowers, cloves, sugar, and ginger (if using).
  3. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  4. Remove from heat and allow to steep for at least 1 hour.
  5. Strain and chill.

To Serve:

  1. Fill a glass with ice.
  2. Pour in the chilled sorrel concentrate.
  3. Top with soda water.
  4. Garnish with lime and mint.
