As the weather starts to get colder, most people start shifting their light and bright cocktails to warm, sippable drinks or a good bottle of wine. However, the brewing world has so much to offer as we head into winter! Drink expert Ren Navarro opened our eyes to some of the deliciously spiced, trendy beers that are perfect for cold-weather consumption. Ren says, in winter, warm spices like cardamom and cloves, or light fruit notes are really popular this time of year.

Find Ren's picks below, and watch the video above for our hosts' reactions as they give them a try!

1. Unibroue - Ce n'est pas le fin du monde

This golden ale has rich, warm and robust spice notes. It has a higher alcohol percentage, makes it a true winter warmer with big flavours..

2. Wellington Brewery - Chocolate milk stout

Lactose, which is milk sugar, brings a whole new level to this beer. It's brewed with a robut blend of cocoa, roasted malts and a touch of flaked oats.

3. Muskoka Brewery - Winter beard

This is a very different chocolate beer! It's rich and sturdy with roasted dark chocolate malts, real cocoa, 70% dark chocolate and fresh local cranberries.
