Holi marks the end of winter and the beginning of spring, and this year it falls on March 18. It’s celebrated all over the world in many different ways. And whether or not you have a few days packed with festivities or celebrating in a small, quieter way, the food definitely should not be missed. Food expert Vijaya Selvaraju shared three Indian-inspired recipes are the perfect way to get in the spirit.

Coconut pistachio ladoos

This is the perfect make-ahead dessert for any celebration. Super easy to make and the perfect bite of flavour, these coconut pistachio ladoos are made with creamy condensed milk, cardamom, dedicated coconut and saffron.

Mango lassi float

A creamy yogurt-based drink made with mangos, spiced with cardamom and topped with vanilla ice cream that floats on the top!

Vada pav

This is Mumbai's most popular street food dish–and for good reason. A spicy potato filling sandwiched between brioche buns and layered with a garlic chilli chutney, tamarind chutney and green chutney, this sandwich is hearty and full of flavour.
