After the tragic events in Nova Scotia, a
GoFundMe page has been set up for one of the victim's families to help them through this time. Kristen Beaton, a continuing care assistant with the Victorian Order of Nurses and a frontline worker in the COVID-19 pandemic, was killed during the
Portapique rampage. Her husband, Nick Beaton, gave an
emotional interview with CTV's Lisa LaFlamme, where he explained he spoke to his wife on the phone just minutes before her life was taken, and how this tragedy has shattered his family.Kristen leaves behind her three-year-old son, Dax. Nick says Kristen was also pregnant with another child at the time of her death. They had planned to tell their families about the pregnancy this week while she had some time off work. Started by Greg Johnston, longtime friend of Nick, the GoFundMe page has amassed more than $60,000 at the time of writing. To donate to their GoFundMe page,
