In Your Morning's final installment of our Heart and Stroke series, we're taking a look at the research gap between men and women when it comes to heart disease and stroke. Cardiologist Dr. Sherryn Rambihar visited us once again, sharing how women continue to be under-researched, under-diagnosed, under-treated, under-supported and under-aware of their risks - last year, 45 per cent more women than men died of stroke in Canada. The research gap means we lack critical information about the impact of differences between women’s and men’s hearts and brains. The Red List by the Heart and Stroke Foundation is a collective of people, both men and women, who pledge their support of Heart and Stroke’s Women’s campaign by donating, signing up for newsletters to learn more about heart disease and stroke, as well as how to best advocate for yourself. Sign up for the Red List here, and be sure to watch the video above for even more essential information about heart disease and stroke.[video_embed id='1828709']Heart attacks are more deadly for women, research shows[/video_embed]
