Chef Tawnya Brant is helping us recognize and celebrate Canada's Indigenous people by sharing three tasty recipes inspired by Indigenous ingredients and cuisine. These recipes will give you a delicious taste of authentic, natural cooking enjoyed through the centuries.

Yawékon house seasoning 

Yawékon in the Mohawk language means "it tastes good." This seasoning uses dehydrated ramps, wild garlic, and oregano. 

Succotash 

Succotash is a side dish with Indigenous roots. This bright and flavourful succotash recipe features white corn, lima beans, summer squash, peppers, and green onions. 

Seed Encrusted Walleye

These seed-encrusted walleye fillets are tender and packed with flavour using traditional Indigenous ingredients like pumpkin seeds and hemp hearts.
