Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black food colouring
  • 12 full chicken wings, drumette and winglet attached

Directions

  1. Add olive oil, soy sauce, honey, lime juice, garlic powder, and black food colouring to a reusable plastic bag. Mix to combine.
  2. Add chicken wings and seal the bag. Mix well to coat and marinate for 12 hours.
  3. Using a toothpick, skewer the chicken wing across the joint between the drumette and winglet to stretch it out. This will help maintain the wingspan of the branch as it bakes.
  4. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lay a wire rack over top. Pat chicken wings to remove any excess moisture, and either allow to air-dry overnight or dry with a hairdryer on the relaxed setting to remove any excess water.
  5. Bake on a lined baking sheet on the convection setting at 425 F for 25 minutes.
  6. Serve with your favourite barbecue or hot sauce. Enjoy!
