Paneer Tikka

Make restaurant-style Paneer Tikka at home with this easy recipe! Cubes of paneer, onion and bell peppers are marinated with spices and yogurt and then roasted in the oven to perfection.



  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated ginger
  • 1 tablespoon finely grated garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon Kashmiri chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon amchur (dried mango powder)
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon crushed kasoori methi (dried fenugreek leaves)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 400 g paneer, cut into large rectangles
  • 1 green pepper, cut into large squares
  • 1 red pepper, cut into large squares
  • 1 white onion, cut into large squares
  • Ghee


  1. Add yogurt, lemon juice, ginger, garlic, Kashmiri chilli powder, black pepper, amchur, turmeric, coriander, cumin, garam masala, kasoori methi, and kosher salt to a large bowl. Mix to combine.
  2. Add sliced paneer, green peppers, red peppers, and onions to the marinade and mix well to coat. Refrigerate for a minimum of two hours overnight to marinate.
  3. Heat a grill (indoor/outdoor). Layer marinated paneer and vegetables onto soaked wooden skewers. Place on grill, and brush with ghee. Grill until nicely charred on all sides, approximately eight to 10 minutes.
  4. Garnish with lemon wedges. Enjoy!
