Vanessa makes a versatile dish with two of the most searched foods online – chicken & apples!
SERVES
4
Ingredients
500 grams ground chicken
1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs
1/2 cup parmigiano reggiano
2 large Granny Smith or Delicious apples, grated
1 large egg
3 tablespoons fresh tarragon, finely chopped
3 scallions, finely chopped
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
4 hamburger buns of your choice (i love a whole grain bun during the week and a brioche bun on the week end!)
4 large leaves of Boston Lettuce
1 large tomato sliced
For the sauce:
1 cup natural Greek yogurt
1/4 cup Sriracha (more or less depending on how spicy you like it)
2 tablespoons fresh tarragon, finely chopped
2 tablespoons fresh chives, finely chopped
Directions
Pre-heat the oven to 375 degrees or a grill to medium high heat.
In a bowl combine the ground chicken, panko, parmigiano reggiano, apples, egg, tarragon, scallions, salt, pepper and Worcestershire sauce. Combine all the ingredients together. Then separate the meat into four parts and form the hamburger patties.
Place the patties in the oven or on the grill, cook until well done. Once they are cooked, place them on a dish tented with aluminum foil to allow them to stay warm and juicy.
Place the hamburger buns in the oven or toast on the grill for extra flavour and texture.
In a separate bowl, add in the Greek yogurt, Sriracha, tarragon and chives. Mix together.
Assemble to burgers starting with the buns, the sauce, the meat, the lettuce and tomatoes.
