This warm cocktail incorporates many of the things we love the most: Christmas, simplicity and deliciousness.

I used Glayva which is a Scotch-based liqueur that’s been infused with tangerine peel, honey and spices for a warming, delicious mixing spirit that’s unexptected in this drink.

  • 2 liters sweetened, non alcoholic apple cider
  • 3 – 4 star anise
  • 10 whole cloves
  • 4 cinnamon sticks (plus more for garnish)
  • Dash of ground cinnamon
  • 3/4 cup Glayva
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter
  • Dried apples (for garnish)

  1. Set a large stock pot over medium heat and pour in apple cider and spices. Simmer until hot. Removing from heat, pour in Glayva and salted butter and mix. Scoop (or avoid) spices from the mix and ladle into mugs garnished with dried apples and a fresh cinnamon stick.
