Danish caramelized potatoes

Take your potato game up a notch with this caramelized Danish-inspired side dish. 



  • 2 lbs small potatoes, boiled and peeled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1/4 teaspoon chili flake


  1. Boil your potatoes in seasoned water until tender. 
  2. Peel each potato and allow it to cool in the fridge overnight (can be done a few days ahead). 
  3. When ready to serve, combine the sugar, water, and chili flake in a large skillet.  Cook on medium-high heat until melted. Cook for two to three minutes, then add the potatoes and coat.  Cook another five to six minutes until deeply caramelized. 
  4. Season with extra salt to taste and enjoy!
