Deconstructed baked apples and honey with oat crumble
Ingredients
Apples:
- 6 apples, halved
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
Topping:
- 1 cup quick oats
- 3 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 6 tablespoons margarine, melted or 1/2 cup of melted coconut oil or olive oil
- Optional: 1 tablespoon honey
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350F degrees.
- Cut apples in half, remove core and seeds with a small paring knife or spoon.
- Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Place apples on baking sheet. In a bowl, mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and lemon juice. Brush mixture over top of the apples.
- In a large mixing bowl, mix together all of the topping ingredients. Add the topping mixture on top of each apple. Bake for 30-35 minutes.
- Remove from oven and top with honey.
- Serve and enjoy!
