Doggy cake

This recipe is intended to be a treat for your pups!



  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1/4 cup natural smooth peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda


  • 1 cup plain greek yogurt
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey



  1. Preheat your oven to 350F.
  2. Grease and flour two 6" round baking pans. Set aside.
  3. Whisk together dry ingredients in a medium mixing bowl then set aside.
  4. Whisk together wet ingredients in a large mixing bowl. Slowly add dry mixture while continuously stirring. A stand or hand mixer can be used.
  5. Once all of the ingredients are well combined, divide evenly into the two baking pans and bake for 30 minutes or until you are able to insert a toothpick in the center without any residue.  
  6. Let cool in the pans for at least ten minutes before transferring to the cooling rack.


  1. While cake is baking, combine all ingredients in a medium mixing bowl (again, a hand or stand mixer can be used).
  2. Keep refrigerated until you are ready to frost.
