Flip the burgers onto a hot grill pan on medium-high heat brushing with teriyaki sauce as you go; five minutes for the first side, 10 for the other side.
Place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt while the burger finishes cooking another two minutes.
Grill the red pepper and red onion rings until they soften and are marked.
Optional: Fry four eggs sunny side up and set aside brush ham with canola oil and grill and set aside.
Serve burgers on toasted buns with one tablespoon Maui mayo, on each two tablespoons pineapple salsa, grilled onion and pepper and ham and fried egg, if desired.
