Homemade applesauce

So easy, you'll never want to buy store-bought applesauce again.

Ingredients
- 2 pounds Macintosh apples (about 6 medium sized), peeled, cored and chopped
- ½ cup water
- Juice of 1 lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- Pinch of sea salt
Directions
- In a medium pot bring apples, water, lemon juice, cinnamon, sugar and salt to a boil, then lower to a simmer, stirring often, until apples are cooked and start falling apart (about 15 minutes). Blitz in the pot with an immersion blender until the desired consistency is achieved. Serve with latkes.
