Italian almond cookies

Ingredients

  • 200 grams almond flour
  • 200 grams powdered sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/4 teaspoon almond extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 3 egg whites slightly beaten

Directions

  1. Combine almond flour, powdered sugar, lemon zest, orange zest, vanilla, and salt with a whisk.
  2. Add egg whites and mix with a spatula until thoroughly mixed.
  3. Put mixture in a piping bag with a star tip.
  4. Pipe on to parchment paper.
  5. Top with candied red and green cherries.
  6. Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
  7. Refrigerate overnight.
  8. Bake at 350° oven for 10-15 minutes or until edges are light brown. Enjoy!
