Kir royale

Don’t shorten this name casually to a “Kir” when ordering – for then you will get a white still white wine with a splash of crème de cassis. It’s the bubbly in this cocktails that elevates it to “Royale” status. This Valentine’s Day we’re looking for a thrilling jolt of red, so I’ve opted for a raspberry liqueur from Niagara to replace the cassis – which is likely way more easy to find, anyway.
Ingredients
- 1/2 ounce raspberry liqueur
- 6 ounces dry sparkling wine
- Fresh raspberries and/or lemon twist, to garnish
Directions
- Pour liqueur into a champagne flute, top with bubbly. Garnish with raspberries.
