Ingredients
2 cups cold water
1 cup granulated sugar
2 or 3 drops freshly squeezed lemon juice
Zest of 2 lemons
4 cups unflavoured Vodka
Directions
In a medium pot combine the cold water, sugar, lemon juice and the zest using a zester for thick strips.
Simmer over medium high heat until the mixture reduces by half, about 15 minutes.
Allow the syrup to rest until completely cool.
Strain cooled syrup into bottle or jar and combine with vodka.
Mix very well.
Cork the bottle and let it rest in the refrigerator for a week for best flavour before using it.
Serve in ice-cold glasses.
