Nothing screams a fall drink more than a delicious spiced apple cider. This recipe by Vijaya Selvaraju is super simple to make since all you need is a slow cooker!

  • 8 apples (Gala, Fuji, Cortland, Mutsu, etc), quartered
  • 1 orange, quartered
  • 1 lemon, quartered
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 star anise
  • 2 slices fresh ginger
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • Water

  1. Place all ingredients in slow cooker, and cover with water until it is almost full. Cook on high for four hours.
  2. Open slow cooker, mash the fruit until pulpy, and cook for an additional hour on high.
  3. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher and serve warm. Garnish with slices of fresh orange and apple, and a cinnamon stick. Enjoy!
