With warmer weather on the horizon, it’s time to swap out your turtlenecks for tees. Whether you’re setting up for video calls or simply just in the mood to put real pants on, we’ve rounded up Erica Wark’s top five staples for Spring! From an oversized blazer to a timeless tee, these staples will help you maximize and elevate your wardrobe.

JEANS

No matter what you’re doing or where you’re going, a great pair of denim can always come in handy. Jeans are universally flattering and can be found in an endless variety of styles and washes. Finding a pair with a bit of stretch and a mid-high rise is your best bet. A great way to style your favourite denim for spring is by pairing it with a floral or feminine blouse, gold jewellery and a summery bamboo bag.

THE PERFECT TEE

You can never go wrong with having a classic tee in your wardrobe. Not only are they comfortable and easy to wear, but they can also be worn all year round. If you’re wondering how you can style your basic tee with a current trend – cargo pants are your answer! They have the comfortability of joggers but with a Spring vibe. With a topper like a leather or jean jacket, your tee will look completely elevated.

SWEATER

Canadian weather can definitely be unpredictable, which is why it always comes in handy to have an extra layer with you. A lightweight sweater is perfect for cooler evenings and can be extremely versatile when it comes to mixing and matching it with items you already own. Whether you toss it on top of a silk dress or pair it with your favourite denim, a neutral sweater is a chic and practical way to layer throughout Spring. To create a casual everyday look, you can dress your outfit down with a pair of sneakers.

BLACK TROUSERS

Depending on what you style them with, a pair of black trousers can take you through all seasons. Whether you’re going to the office or running errands, they’re the quintessential must-have for any woman’s wardrobe. Rather than grabbing a dark coloured top, opt for something bright and crisp to contrast the black trouser. A classic button-up is a great option for this look. To complete the outfit, swap your booties for a pair of sandals!

BLAZER

It’s no secret that a classic blazer will never go out of style. While they used to be seen as formal interview-attire, blazers have made their new mark on the fashion world. They’ve become a staple that can be worn for any occasion – from a day at the office to a night out. Blazers make a statement topper that can easily replace your jacket with a more structural feel and look. For Spring, you can style a blazer with a printed floral summer dress and strappy sandals.
