When it comes to investing in your wardrobe, you might be wondering what pieces are worth splurging on. Deciding between saving and splurging is never an easy decision, which is why we Fashion Stylist Joe Zee walked us through how to decide what to save or splurge on!

SAVE: EVENING WEAR

Thanks to social media, eveningwear has become a one-time wear for most people. With so many trends to keep up with and the pressure of posting the same outfit once, we recommend choosing to save on eveningwear. Rather than splurging on a fancy dress that you'll likely only wear a few times, opting for something with a low price tag will allow you to experiment more!

SPLURGE: HOSIERY

While it might seem unnecessary to splurge on hosiery, it can actually save you money in the long run. It's no secret that cheap hosiery can rip easily. Whether you're trying to pull them up or get a ring caught in it, there's nothing more frustrating than having holes in your pantyhose just one day after you bought them. Investing in hosiery that's durable is worthwhile and will last you a long time!

SPLURGE: BLAZERS

Blazers are timeless pieces that will stay in your wardrobe for 10-15 years. Though you can definitely find decent blazers for a budget price, splurging on blazers isn't something you'll regret. Going for a classic black blazer is always a safe bet as it can be matched with almost anything!

SAVE: JEANS

When it comes to denim, splurging on expensive brands is hard to justify. There's no super techology that changes the fabrication of pricey jeans. Most of your money is going towards the brand name rather than the pair of jeans. With so many different styles on the market, finding good deals at vintage or department stores will allow you to have more than one good pair. Rather than spending $200 on jeans, opt for pairs that are $50 so you can have more variety in your closet.

SPLURGE: JEWELRY

Jewelry is definitly not something you want to cheap out on. When shopping around for jewelry, invest in peices that won't cause irritation or turn your skin green. Not only can you pass down nice jewelry to future generations but you can also use quality jewelry to elevate any outfit. Don't be afraid to splurge on one jewelry piece as it can be a staple that you wear every single day.

SAVE: ACTIVEWEAR

While luxury activewear has definitly made it's peak in the market, spending tons of money on a pair of leggings or sports bra isn't practical. These items come in contact with dirty mats, grass and lots of sweat. They also get tossed into lots of wash cycles. Affordable activewear is widely available, especially at stores like Uniqlo and Old Navy. Spending less means that you can buy a few more pieces rather than completely wearing out one set!
