With many weddings having to be postponed over the last year and a half, many brides have been re-evaulating their wedding plans and opting for what it most important. Many brides want to be more authentic, and their fashion is moving in towards a direction that feels more customized to their personality. Bridal expert Jennifer Dang is sharing four wedding dress trends that you need to know right now that will help bring out your personality, whether you're going for a casual bride look, a short dress or romantic.

Square necklines

This dress features a scoop and square neckline, which has become a major trend this year. Plunge necklines have been all the rage, and while that is still a beautiful neckline, there is just more variety coming out for the bridge that wants a bit more coverage. This dress also has a crepe and lace fabric mixture, with minimal lace detailing.

Long sleeves

Looking for drama? Long sleeves and full lace are the look for you! If you love lace but feel it might be too busy, opt for ordering the dress in all ivory to soften up the look.

Laid back details

This is for the relaxed bride! This soft A-line Mikaella bridal dress features soft lines and high slits. It also has sequin lace detailing as an alternative to the traditional lace.

Short length

Short wedding dresses have always been around, but with the pandemic short options have started to appear more often. Short white dresses can sometimes look a bit casual, so consider customizing your dress so the construction and fit are going to be more seamless and fit better. Keep special attention to the length of your dress, a few inches up or down can dramatically be different. and create a different feel. So whether you custom make or buy a short dress, make sure to shorten it to the right length for your height and style. A common myth is that you can save money on a short dress because less fabric, less effort, and time to make, but it's nearly the same amount as a full-length dress. However, a big plus is that you can wear this as your reception dress by adding a detail like sleeves and a train to complete your wedding look and really make walking down the aisle special.
