Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1/3 cup minced raw shrimp (deveined)
  • 1/4 cup minced celery
  • 1/4 cup minced carrot
  • 1/2 yellow onion, minced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 teaspoons fish sauce
  • 1 tsp white sugar
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch, dissolved in 2 tablespoons cold water 
  • 1 package of frozen lumpia wrappers (medium-sized)
  • Sweet chili sauce, for serving

Directions

  1. In a bowl, combine the ground pork, shrimp, celery, carrot, onion, garlic, fish sauce, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, black pepper, and egg. Mix well to combine (you may also take a tablespoon of the filling and microwave it well until cooked through to taste if the filling needs more seasoning) 
  2. Take a tablespoon of the filling and roll it tightly in a spring roll wrapper. Secure the edges and seal with the cornstarch and water mixture.
  3. Fry the lumpia in oil for 5-7 minutes, or until golden brown and the filling is cooked through. 
  4. Serve warm with sweet chili sauce and watch everyone enjoy!
