Food expert, Hannah Sunderani shares four of her favourite plant-based barbecue swaps for summer. 

Vegan BBQ jackfruit pulled pork

Simple vegan pulled pork made with jackfruit, simmered until soft for a pull-apart, stringy and chewy consistency that's so much like pulled pork. Mixed with a simple bbq sauce and spices - it's delicious topped on burgers with homemade vegan coleslaw! 

Cauliflower steaks with spiced chickpeas and tahini

Enjoy these thick slabs of seasoned cauliflower steaks with chickpeas and tahini to drizzle. Oven-roasted, hearty and satisfying! 

Tofu skewers

A delicious summer bbq recipe for lemon garlic tofu skewers with charred summer vegetables. The tofu is marinated in a lemon dijon garlic sauce for full flavour, and cooked until lightly charred with a crisp exterior and chewy interior. A must-have summer recipe for bbq night! 

Lentil burger patties

 

These vegan lentil patties are perfect for burgers. Made with green (puy) lentils, eggplant and breadcrumbs. The texture is similar to a burger but made with lentils. Enjoy on their own or sandwiched between burger buns with a side of coleslaw!
