If you've been paying attention to the world of music lately, chances are you've seen some headlines about two of the biggest artists in the game right now. Yes, we're talking about Toronto's very own Drizzy Drake and the enigma that is Kanye West.
These two artists have been at odds with each other for a while now - like, we're talking more than a decade! Famously, their beef was one of the hottest topics of 2018, when the now-infamous diss track by rapper and Kanye West friend Pusha T, revealed Drake had a son he hadn't yet shared with the world. Drake, of course, has never responded, but it certainly doesn't seem like all is forgiven! Since then, there have been subtle jabs, subtweets, and rumours - but no major developments had occurred for some time. The music world was left wondering what the state of their relationship was...
Until now!
After rumours swirled that the two might release their upcoming albums on the same day, it seems like the competition ignited the bad blood between the two artists. The Canadian artist sent some words of warning to anyone 'in the way' of his upcoming album 'Certified Lover Boy' - that, of course, being Kanye West!

Kanye, it seems, didn't take too kindly to Drake's subtle jab at his own album, 'Donda', also yet to be released. So, not to be outdone, Yeezy responded through his new music, adding a line - which eagle-eared listeners caught - that offered a similar warning to Drake. On his unreleased song 'Junya', Kanye rapped "Move out of the way of my release/ Tryna get me off my Qs and Ps/ Why canāt losers never lose in peace? Aināt nobody āround me losing sleep/ Better find God āfore he find me.ā
Yikes! But the beef didn't stop there - far from it, in fact.
A few weeks later, Drake had a featured verse on a song with artist Trippie Redd, where he took a much more direct approach to the conflict. On the song 'Betrayal', Drake raps "āAll these fools Iām beefinā that I barely know/ Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/ Ye aināt changinā s*** for me, itās set in stone.ā
Oh boy. Them's be fighting words.
But it still doesn't end there.
In a since-deleted post, Kanye shared a screenshot where he appeared to have added Drake to a group chat with Pusha T, and sent him the following message, along with a picture of Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker:
Then, Kanye took it a step further and shared another now-deleted screenshot - this one a picture of Drake's Toronto home address. Yikes.
Drake doesn't seem bothered, though. He posted this video to Instagram right after Kanye shared his address - and he's just laughing it off:
People on both #teamKanye and #teamDrake have been reacting to the superstar conflict on social media. And, of course, there are people who see this as a prime meme opportunity:

One user even brought up the milk crate challenge that's going viral right now:

Regardless of what you think of each artist, it certainly seems like it's going to take a lot for them to bury the hatchet. Either way - we're watching this one closely!
