Nearly two million children risk going to school on an empty stomach in Canada. And although families and children have been heavily impacted by the pandemic, Breakfast Club of Canada and its partners have been working hard to help kids access a healthy breakfast each morning.

When the pandemic hit in early spring 2020 and schools began closing, Breakfast Club of Canada was forced to pivot quickly so they could continue to help feed kids even though they weren’t in school. They did an emergency appeal and used the money to fund like-minded agencies who had the infrastructure to feed kids in other ways outside of a school setting. The Club currently reaches more than 500,000 children in over 3,000 programs in school and community settings across Canada every day.

Breakfast Club of Canada’s Director of Donor Relations and Stewardship, Paul Lethbridge, joined the hosts of The Social to share more about the importance of the program and the impact it’s having on Canadian kids. Watch the full interview in the video clip above.
