With winter finally behind us, it's time to shed those bulky puffers and parkas in favour of lighter layers. Enter – the spring jacket. We have our go-to staples, but this spring comes with its own set of outerwear trends. Stylist Erica Wark highlights her favourite trends below.
It’s definitely a spring staple, but there’s some newness happening. Jean jackets aren’t exactly trailblazing for spring, but brands are really shaking up the topper's classic shape. Also, you can never have too much denim! In fact, this spring, the way to wear denim on denim is actually to match your jacket with your jeans, so it’s a very cohesive look.

These days, anything that covers your shoulders and has a button or a zipper can be considered outerwear, including the blazer. Various cuts are trending including cropped, longline and roomy boyfriend styles.

While trench coats from previous years focused on minimalism and earth tones, this season’s trench and longer styles come in a huge range of vibrant colors and fun textures. They’ll automatically elevate any look.
