Maple and sumac BBQ rainbow trout

Combine sweet and savoury with this delicious and simple-to-make trout dish.

Ingredients

  • 1 rainbow trout fillet
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons sumac
  • 4 sprigs parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Directions

  1. Wrap half the grill with foil to prevent the fish from sticking to the grill. 
  2. Preheat BBQ to medium heat. 
  3. In a small bowl mix maple syrup, sumac, and chopped parsley and mix well. 
  4. Rinse rainbow trout fillet under cold running water and pat dry with a paper towel.
  5. On a sheet pan place trout on the pan, brush on maple sumac mix, and season with salt and pepper, Place on the grill and close the lid. As soon as the fish gets fork tender it is done, Usually about 15 minutes.
  6. Serve and enjoy.
