Liquid chocolate bourbon ball

The bourbon ball has been a Southern delicacy since the 1930s. It’s a truffle-like dessert from Kentucky made with bourbon, pecans, wafer crumbs and chocolate.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 fl oz bourbon
  • 1/2 fl oz crème de cacao
  • 1/2 fl oz hazelnut liqueur
  • 1 egg white
  • 4 drops chocolate bitters
  • Dark chocolate shavings
  • Wafer crumbs, for garnish

Directions

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice.
  2. Add the bourbon, crème de cacao, hazelnut liqueur and egg white to the shaker.
  3. Shake well until chilled, and strain into a cocktail glass. Add the chocolate bitters.
  4. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings and wafer crumbs. Enjoy!
