This drink has a storied history and allegedly one that initially involved caribou blood, but today, the homemade Caribou cocktail can be viewed as mulled wine with a kick.

Ingredients

4 cups Canadian-made red wine
1 1/2 cups Canadian whisky
3 tablespoons maple syrup
1 cinnamon stick (optional)
2 whole cloves (optional)
1 orange peel (optional)

Directions

Place all ingredients in a medium pot over medium heat.
Cook until maple syrup is completely incorporated and the liquid is hot but not boiling.
Keep warm on the stove until ready to serve. Enjoy!
