  • 1 ½ oz Canadian whisky
  • 1 oz of chilled strong coffee
  • ½ oz apricot brandy
  • 1 teaspoon juice from a jar of maraschino cherries
  • 5 drops of chocolate flavoured bitters
  • 1 maraschino cherry, skewered
  • 2 oz melted good quality dark chocolate (can be used for 4 cocktails)
  • 1 oz good quality dark chocolate shavings (can be used for 2 cocktails)
  • Large sized ice cubes

  1. Place the melted chocolate in the saucer of a teacup.
  2. Place the chocolate shavings in a second saucer.
  3. Using an old-fashioned glass, dip 2/3 of the length of the rim into the chocolate, 3 mm deep. Then immediately dip the chocolate rim into the chocolate shavings so that they stick.  Chill the glasses.
  4. Mix the liquid ingredients with ice together in a mixing glass, until the liquid is chilled.
  5. Pour it into the decorated old-fashioned glass over fresh ice and add the skewered cherry to serve.
