- 1 package chocolate covered pretzels
- 1 package strawberry gummy candies
- 1 package gummy bears
- 1 package chocolate chip cookies
- 300 grams jelly beans
- 1 maraschino cherry
Strawberry whipped cream
- 1 package strawberry gelatin dessert
- 500 millilitres whipping cream
Directions
- To make the strawberry whipped cream, first prepare the gelatin dessert according to package instructions. Chill while you prepare the cream.
- Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, whip the cream to stiff peaks are formed.
- When the gelatin begins to set, but it is not completely solid, combine with whipped cream and mix again until well incorporated.
- Invert a trifle dish on top of the pre-made cake base
- Trace around the rim of the dish with a knife to create cake layers.
- With trifle dish right side up, place a layer of cake into the bottom of the dish. Don't worry if it crumbles.
- Spoon whipped cream on top of the cake, smoothing in a relatively even layer.
- Alternating with chocolate covered pretzels and gummy bears, line the inside of the dish with the candies standing up and facing the edge of the glass.
- In the middle, layer cookies, gummy bears, strawberry candies and jelly beans.
- Top with more whipped cream and another layer of cake, and continue these steps of layering until the trifle dish is full.
- Being sure to have the last layer at the top of the dish cake, spoon left over whipped cream in a mound on top and top with remaining candies, crushed cookie and a cherry.
- NOTE: ready-made cake bases are easily found in the bakery aisle of most grocery stores. This recipe can easily be made in under half hour once the whipped cream is made.
