Easy pink lemonade


Simple syrup:

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lemon half
  • 1 beet slice (optional)


  1. In mason jar or heatproof container, stir together water and sugar. Microwave on high for until completely clear, about 90 seconds. Stir and let cool.
  2. Into martini shaker filled with ice, squeeze juice from one lemon half (two if you like it very sour) and add peel. Add 1/4 cup of simple syrup and beet slice (if using). Shake vigorously for 30 seconds. Pour into chilled glass.
